Hitachi(MERL) - HAS - IHPC

Hitachi-MERL is a repeat partner of IHPC for the past 3 years. IHPC entered into our 3rd phase of project with Hitachi in August 2008. For the past 3 years, IHPC conducted Molecular Dynamics Simulation & Study of Adhesion between Metal and Polyimide interfaces for Hitachi. Hitachi has used IHPC simulation results almost immediately and applied them over the past 3 years. Said Dr Tomio Iwasaki, “With the help of IHPC’s supercomputing facilities and MD simulations, Hitachi has been able to predict and judge the performance of the interfaces plus the design of the materials 4 times faster.” Hitachi is very satisfied with the collaboration with IHPC and plans to make joint publications and press releases with IHPC.

Dr Shinobu Yoshida, GM of R&D Centre, Hitachi Asia said, “Hitachi is impressed by the quality of IHPC’s researchers, computing facilities and software. Through the recent IHPC-Hitachi collaborations, Hitachi’s engineers have gained deeper understanding of the problem at hand, whilst at the same time able to leverage on IHPC’s talents and industry relevance.
