Science Chronicles is a science fiction writing competition, aimed at fostering a new generation of scientific thinkers and writers. It is open to all secondary and JC students in Singapore. Students are given free rein to pen their literary creations that should have at least some mention of science and technology within their storyline.
The Award Ceremony to conclude the competition was held on 12 October 2009 at Fusionopolis. A total of 22 schools had taken part in the competition with 116 students submitting 110 entries on various aspects of science fiction.

The Guest of Honour was Prof Charles Zukoski, Chairman of A*STAR"s Science & Engineering Research Council, who gave an insightful address about science and reading science fiction to the students and teachers.
